Maghe Parab is the harvesting festival of tribals, which is celebrated by the Kisan, Ho, Kol and Oraon.This fiesta is organized in order to propitiate the village deity who confer the farmers with good destiny and guards them from all the disasters.The festival of Maghe Parab commences in diverse villages on different days of the calendar month. The rites constitutes of sacrifice of black fowl in front of the idol, Mahua, liquor is also offered.
At the time of the fiesta, each and every person wears brand new clothes. Singing, dancing and drinking are some of the common activities that can be seen at the time of the Maghe Parab fiesta. The tribal groups fete Holo Parab during rains and Damurai Parab during summer.
